Chasmanthium latifolium, also known as Northern wild oats, and Northern sea oats (although it does not grow near the sea). A warm season grass. strictly clumping.
Chasmanthium latifolium leaves start green, turn to amber/gold in fall, 3-4' tall seed heads open light green, turn to red/brown, then to buff, 4' tall zone 5 prefers light shade, but will also grow in full sun
